June 2024

Things continue to be busy as ever here. I had to add a temporary password to the EP/album project submission page to keep things manageable but I’m hoping I’ll be able to remove that and return to “normal” soon, whatever that is.

There have been lots of great new singles, EPs, and albums on the desk lately, as well as a number of great remastering projects for some pretty classic albums that will be announced soon.

As far as stuff that’s been released recently, The Cranberries released a remix of their classic hit “Linger” done by Iain Cook of CHVRCHES that I think was really tastefully and well done. It was an honor to have mastered it. You can easily stream it on your streaming service of choice HERE.

The Ergs! released a 20th Anniversary Edition of their great “dorkrockcorkrod” album via Don Giovanni Records. The new version features a remix of the album done by the late Steve Albini and a newly remastered version of the original mix that was remastered here. Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service mastered the Steve Albini mix and cut the lacquers for both versions of this 2xLP set. You can order it HERE.

The 2000 debut album from Nelly Furtado ‘Whoa, Nelly!’ was recently remastered here and is receiving its first ever vinyl release. You can order two different 2xLP iterations of it HERE. It comes out August 9th.

The Dollyrots released a new 2-song single via Wicked Cool Records that was produced & mixed by John Fields and mastered here. It’s streaming everywhere, and available on 7″ vinyl HERE.

Grammy-nominated artist Jontavious Willis announced his latest album “West Georgia Blues” which was recently mastered here, and comes out August 16th via Strolling Bones Records. You can stream a few of the singles now, and pre-order the vinyl HERE.

Butch Vig recently produced a song for Zeke Bleek called “26 eXes” that was mastered here. You can listen on your streaming service of choice, or watch the video HERE.

If you ordered “Kill The Musicians Vol. 1” by Screeching Weasel, you probably noticed how TERRIBLE side A of Volume 1 sounded. I could write a novel about the entire situation but just know that the issue is resolved and if you didn’t receive a free replacement copy of it yet, reach out to Recess Records to arrange that. The new version of Volume 1 sounds AMAZING and side B of Volume 1 sounds even better than the initial version as well although there was no technical issue with side B, just side A. Thanks for your patience on that one.

Sounds Rad! recently announced their reissue of the 1993 album “Undressed” by Pansy Division which you can pre-order starting July 8th via their website. Also shipping now from Sounds Rad! is Dr. Frank’s 1999 solo album “Show Business Is My Life” which is shipping now. Both albums had lacquers cut by Well Made Music and sound GREAT on vinyl.

There’s been a ton of other new releases mastered here as well and the best place to keep up with that is over on Instagram.

Lastly, I’m well overdue for some fresh professional studio photos but things have been too busy to do that. For now, here are a few amateur photos I took on my phone while rendering an album.
