I just wanted to say thanks to everybody who has helped make this an especially busy year with a ton of great projects. It’s hard to believe we’re entering the last 1/3 of 2023 already.
There are so many great projects in the can that can’t be mentioned yet, but in early August, RHINO Records and The Replacements announced “Tim (Let It Bleed Edition)”. Remxing classic albums can be controversial and often times unnecessary but I think the overwhelming majority of Replacements fans have been wanting to hear this album remixed since the day it came out.
Ed Stasium has remixed the entire album, and it has been mastered here along with a full remaster of the original 1985 mixes, a full disc of bonus tracks, and a great live show from Cabaret Metro in Chicago on January 11th, 1986. I can verify first hand that Ed did an amazing job with the new mixes, as well as remixing nearly all the bonus tracks on disc 3. Some of the bonus tracks are now properly mixed for the very first time.
You can pre-order the set now from RHINO, and the full release will be available September 22nd on all the streaming services and in a 1xLP/4xCD set from your favorite local record store. Click HERE for more info.
I did an interview with Anthony from The Power Chord Hour Podcast where we discuss the new boxed set and more. You can watch it HERE.
New Kids On The Block just announced “The Block Revisited” to mark the 15th Anniversary of their 2008 album “The Block“. “The Block Revisited” which was mastered here is available as a 1xCD or 2xLP set which contains a remastered version of the original album, extra songs that were previously unreleased, and a new remix by Dem Jointz of the song “Dirty Dancing” which features Joshua, Dk & Dino Of Seventeen. The streaming version will have even more bonus tracks and the full set comes out November 3rd. You can pre-order the CD and/or vinyl HERE.
Back in 2009, Jon Walker & Ryan Ross left Panic! At The Disco and made a great album as The Young Veins which came out in 2010.
The vinyl has been out of print for awhile so it was a great pleasure and honor to remaster “Take A Vacation!” here at Mystery Room Mastering for both digital/streaming (now available in high-resolution) and for the upcoming vinyl re-release.
One of my all-time favorite bands Dusk (from Appleton, WI) announced their new album “Glass Pastures” that comes out October 20th via Don Giovanni Records.
The album was mixed by Arthur Pitsch at Crutch Of Memory and mastered here at Mystery Room Mastering.
Here’s the first video/single called “Pissing in a Wishing Well” that was directed by Finn Bjornerud.
Another great Fox Valley band called The Present Age have a great new album out called “Radio Static Intelligible” that was mastered here at Mystery Room Mastering. It’s available on Bandcamp, streaming services, and watch for a vinyl version too. It’s a great album and it was a real pleasure to work on it.
Lydia Loveless released another video and single from her upcoming album “Nothing’s Gonna Stand In My Way Again” that was mixed by Sean Sullivan, and mastered here.
The album comes out Sept. 22nd via Bloodshot Records, and here is the video for “Sex & Money”:
